What is our Purpose at Zippy?
When you are trying to create a new category or a new innovation grounds up — the challenges are aplenty. There are hardly any direct playbooks that you can refer to; or case studies you can smarten from. But then — when was walking on the usual known path exciting, it is fun to challenge the status quo but make no mistakes it is daunting.
At Zippy — during such moments, we go back to our purpose and question it to no ends.
Are we solving a real world problem?
Will our solution help people achieve something meaningful? Will it make some difference to the quality or quantity of their life?
Are we going to leave the people and the world better than they were without us?
In all such moments — when we ponder over these questions, we get clarity and courage to tread along. So that brings us to what is our purpose?
As per 2021 report from WHO (World Health Organization), Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) kill 41 million people each year, equivalent to 71% of all deaths globally. Cardiovascular diseases account for most NCD deaths, or 17.9 million people annually, followed by cancers (9.3 million), respiratory diseases (4.1 million), and diabetes (1.5 million).
While the problem is big and life threatening, the solution is also lurking around:
According to multiple research studies, it is found that runners have a 30 per cent lower risk of early death from heart and circulatory conditions, a 27 per cent lower risk of early death from any cause, and a 23 per cent lower risk of early death from all types of cancer.
As a team of life long runners — it is vividly clear to us that running has immense benefits not only for our physical health but also for our emotional or mental well-being. Zippy is our endeavor to bring running to masses and reward them monetarily for their effort aside from bringing them health and happiness.
We are committed to sharing a percentage of community’s token earnings with hospitals and research institutes that are advancing the agenda on ‘cardiovascular conditioning’
In the next post, we will talk about how we are making running fun, effective and bringing it to masses, in a way never done before.
